Nevada Beach is one big pile of sand. Not only is the beach long (.7 miles), it is wider than any Tahoe beach. In some cases the sand is over 300 yards wide. The camping areas are mostly located back up the hill in the forested areas, but there are several on the southern end that are in the sandy areas. These spots are hurting for shade however. The beach, along with being the widest, is probably the lake's windiest. The upside is that these winds can keep the bugs away at times.
